if prices drop in april 22nd i was thinking of getting the q6600 but heard it overclocks poorly

ihave 2X wd5000ks hard diskes so i'm set with that

buget is 2500$ so dont care about save on better price/prefomence parts

also i'm thinking not to sli if there a better preformence mobo then striker

should i get 1066mhz memroy if i can afford them will it give better over cloking capabilit's since i plan to over clock as far as air cooling can get me

is my cpu cooler good? any suggestions?

It's a pretty good CPU cooler, but I wouldn't be too comfortable overclocking a C2D to match 1066 RAM. You normally wouldn't have a 1:1 FSB to RAM raito when you're using RAM of that calibre. Also, I don't think the 680i boards are too good for overclocking, and I've heard that the 650i boards are more reliable and stable. If overclocking is the aim, I'd recommend getting an E4300 after the price cuts (they've been overclocked to 3.6GHz and beyond), drop to 800MHz RAM to match that, and possibly get another GTX for SLi if your budget allows it.
On the quad core front, you'd really need water cooling to overclock them properly (Intel have insisted that the QX6800 be water cooled only).
Finally, perhaps you should get a WD Raptor drive? They're damn fast and will considerably cut loading times for games (I'd say get a 150GB one and install everything on that drive, use the other drives for media storage).
On the whole, a pretty good build though :)

i know the 680i is still unstable but wont future updates fixe this?
i want the 680i becuase i want to get that most upgradability with the machine wich other mobo/chipset are better in overclocking (money is not a factor)

dont think i'll get the e440o cuase i can afford some thing meaner

might really get a raptor instedad of the rams
but they really give me no edge in over cloacking? (dont mind to onderclock them until 1333 fsb arrives......)

dont think i'll sli know dont need it
in the future i imight but i think by the time i'll need it i cloud just get a btter video card that outpreformes both of them that way i'm not so fixed on th 680i

If SLi isn't an issue, just get a Gigabyte DS3 mobo. They're proven overclocking boards, and the newest revision with the latest BIOS update supports 1333FSB processors. The e4300 overclocks really really well, and you'd need to overclock to get the most out of the RAM you're using. If you choose not to overclock, then you'd only need to get DDR2 533MHz RAM (or maybe 667MHz if you get one of the 1333FSB processors).

as i said before money is not an issue i heard rhta the asus striker is the best gaming board is it true?
plus i want a mogo wich is nativly 1333 fsb

why not a dq6?

Yes, it's a pretty good gaming board, but I don't think it's the best for overclocking though. Most people tend to use the Gigabyte DS3, although you can also use the Asus P5N-Deluxe, Abit AB9, and a few others (see the overclocking section of this forum). You say price isn't an issue, but you don't want SLi? If that's the case, then you should get a pretty good PC now, but not do silly things like SLi and quad core (you could use the money you save now to upgrade again in a year's time), as SLi and quad core are a bit overkill at the moment. No point throwing money away. For a serious overclocker, I'd still recommend the E4300. Although it starts off slow, it can be overclocked as high other C2D's. That said, you may want to look at the E6600, as it has 4MB of L2 cache, rather than the 2MB the E4300 has.
