how to recover wrongly copy/pasted folders

I fucked up. I was copying a folder but had to cancel it due to one file being in use. I cut/copied again and when it asked me if i wanted to overwrite the excisting folder i answered yes.
Now i am stuck with half of the folder backed up and lost the part previously copied. Anyone knows of how i can recover the lost part?

if you had cancelled it, it should all still be in the original folder?

I've done this with music, while listening to a mp3 and copying songs to other folders, moving folders around. I would cut/paste, "music file in use" "cancel" and try again after switching songs... np, never lost anything o_0

did you delete the files after copying them to the new location?
did you copy the files or u were moving the files?????

if the files are deleted before copying them you
will need third part software.
