I recently Installed it on my computer last night , and had it crash on me 6 times when trying to surf the web. Has anybody else had this problem?

I had to revert back to firefox 1.5.0.7 because it just kept crashing.

wait for the first update i think.

More about : dont install firefox

Wrong section. And it's running fine for me. Maybe the additional spell checking is too taxing on your system :p

Okay, fine, I did patronize you a little.

I'm just saying, it wasn't tucked away in a little corner, it's on the main Forumz page, with over 1/2 million posts!

I think he's having problems with the SETI client buit into firefox II. It didn't detect any intelligent life in front of the screen so put the PC into power-saving mode.

Its working better than my explorer right now. snappier web pages and faster flash loads.. And thats coming from an explorer user.. i still like google toolbar better for explorer than firefox.. and thats also coming from a guy that swore i'd never get a toolbar but getting my bookmarks and old searches (never thought that would be useful) from anywhere rocks!
October 27, 2006 1:19:01 AM

works fine here too but i want my black japan back
October 27, 2006 1:20:05 AM

2.0 is working fine here.

Firefox 2.0 is running like a breeze... to be honest, I've noticed all the lovely tweaks, and can say I'm satisfied with it. If its screwing up with only you, maybe your pc is at fault? And are you to recommend IE7? Sure, its improved on IE6, but still! IE?! I think I'll stick to my Firefox....

Even though this is in the wrong area, oh well, what's done is done...
You did help me once or twice in the past with mobo issues. I have several desktops (7 of them), not including my two laptops, everything from Win2000 Pro to XP Home Ed. to Win XP Pro. All my systems including the ones at work (the oldest crap with the Win 2000 Pro OS), installed Firefox 2.0 RC1, RC2 & the actual release flawlessly. You might have some really screwed up registry issues. Firefox works. any version is better than I.E. Version XXX.
The following should be done at your own risk & if you have a good reliable backup of your system, cuz you never know when s-h-i-t will hit the fan during a procedure like what I'm about to explain. C.Y.O.A.

My suggestion would be:
(1) to first uninstall Firefox completely,
(2) delete any traces left behind, usually left in the E:\Documents and Settings\Heyhey\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox, directory/folder
(3) reboot,
(4) then get a F-R-E-E copy of SpyBot's S&D at http://www.spybot.info/en/mirrors/index.html,
(5) get it's updates,
(6) let Spybot make a registry backup point right after the installation,
(7) run Spybot it in default mode,
(8) Click on the Mode menu option, set Spybot to use the Advanced mode features
(9) Click on the System Internals option which will scan your registry for bogus & non-existent apps & DLL's pointing to nowhere.
(10) Reboot
(11) Try installing Firefox v2.0 again.
(12) make a donation to Spybot if all this works
(13) if all this fails I hope you have some gasoline & tar, spread it even over your Win-OS install,
(14) (I hate this part 7 the next 7-12 hrs) Worst case scenario would be to Start a fresh Windows OS install

Good Luck.

Take it with a grain of salt & ignore 'em & keep asking your questions. When you post something in the wrong place, just apologize & move on.
I was taught that there's no such thing as a stupid question in the wrong place, just stupid people in the right places.

These guys/gals just want to keep a little order in this chaotic world of puters that we live in, is all.

I am running FF 2.0 and I haven't had a problem yet with it.

Maybe, totally uninstalling it and re-installing it will fix whatever problem you might be going through.
October 27, 2006 2:30:25 AM

2.0 works for me. and that, folks, is the last of my usefulness for the nite.
October 27, 2006 3:38:45 AM

No kidding. 2.0 running great for me so far, but I miss the black skin. I downloaded the better looking skins for the accuweather thing, looks like the mac dashboard art.
October 27, 2006 5:00:27 AM

extensions?

I installed it this AM and so far no problems. I like the spell checking, and that it is not IE
October 27, 2006 2:57:05 PM

Another 2.0 satisfied user here. I have it running on 4 rigs and have not noticed any problems yet. Haven't heard anything from anyone at my office that uses it either.
October 27, 2006 3:47:33 PM

another FF 2.0 user and its running fine for me, but it did crash once but only once and that was probable due to me trying to to to many things at once. however when it crashed i didn't need to worry because of the restore session thing.
October 29, 2006 11:39:53 PM

Been using FF 2.0 from the day is was released. Works perfectly for me!

This message has been posted using Firefox 2.
