Hello, I am trying to plug in my portable hard drive into my laptop. I have done this many times, but now I get an error message;
usb hub power exceeded...
As recommended, I have moved the usb to each port...with the same result.
As recommended, I have bought a powered usb hub...with the same result.
As recommended, I have gotten a better usb cord...with the same result.
As recommended, I have re-installed windows (Vista) fresh start. I wiped out the hard drive...with the same result.
HELP!!! Someone please!

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Sounds like that hard drive or its caddy has a big problem and you might be beter off without it. Does it behave better in another computer?
