I was thinking of getting the E6700 in a few months (this summer). I have the E6300. I did my first build (gaming system) with the E6300 to be cautious. Now Im ready to move up :) Good idea or is something better? Ive never overclocked and I probably wont.

dont waste the cash on the 6700 get the new 6420 and overclock it to 3ghz

i purchaed an e6300 in july 06, got it in mid aug, it runs 2.7ghz and i never even bothered to use the x6800 i saved up for. its sad but i use to test mobos now - you read this correctly i use the x6800 to test mobos and game on an e6300. I am too lazy to swith them.

anyone need a good deal on a x6800 it ran 3.8ghz for burn in only!

It's a shame to let an overclocker like that go to waste, but to each his own.

It really depends on how much you have to spend. When you do upgrade, sell your old memory and get 2x1GB of DDR2-800. Do you have a 64-bit OS now?
