Need some help from the group please:

I am getting Comcast HD service on 11/19. I live in the western suburbs of
Chicago. Can anyone tell what type of box I will get and which connections
it supports? Also, any comments on the PQ will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

MB

Mike,

The PQ is great, and here is the box unless you are getting the DVR
feature:

http://broadband.motorola.com/cons [...] efault.asp

If you are getting the dvr, then the box is a dct6208(single tuner) or dct
6214(dual tuner)

Where can I find info on the DVRs - dct6208 and dct6214? The motorola web
site seems to only hve the dct6200 at the URL you have listed. I'm getting
the Comcast recorder for HD.

We got the Motorola DVR unit, I think it is the DCT6208, can't remember if
it was an extra charge for the DVR or not but definitely worth it. But if
you're getting the DVR get the new dual tuner model. I just arranged to have
ours swapped for the new dual tuner unit. The dual tuner allows you to
watch one station or recorded program at the same time you're recording
another channel. Unit works good and has DVI, component as well as standard
AV and cable outputs. I even got a second unit for my basement (non HDTV)
just for the DVR features. I'd highly recommend the DVR - well worth it for
the extra few dollars a month as far as I'm concerned. It makes recording
so easy, works with the HD channels and allows you to pause and rewind live
TV.
