if you're using the re-distributable network IT professionals version of sp2 for xp, i believe it should have everything it requires already, instead of asking for the i386 folder

don't use the express install version, see if it makes a difference

if you're talking about installing windows all together and it's asking for another disk...you probably have an upgrade version of xp that needs a full version of windows to upgrade from
