Windows Install problem

Geez looks like a lot of people are having problems... here is mine:

I have been installing Windows XP Pro all day. Once I had downloaded all the updates from MS, I then installed Sophos (anti-virus), MS Office, Adobe Reader, Spybot, Ad-ware... then Roxio 6. When I rebooted from installing Roxio it went to this screen (see pic below). I can move the mouse pointer around and when I put a CD in the DVD drive the mouse pointer changes (the little cd pops next to it)... but nothing else happens... anyone know what is going on ? Any guidence would be much appreciated.

By the way I tried using the install disk with the same result .

hi.
use safe mode to log in the system and unistall progams startet from roxio6.
restart if you log in normal then its ok,
if not then continue with the next aplication you install.
by the way as i see by the aplication you told here every one of these aplication eexept ad-awre needs to restart yoyr pc to take effect the changes?
did you restart your after installing evry aplication?????
