If you buy any PC,Laptop with/or XP software (retail or OEM) from October 26,2006 trough March 15,2007 you get a free upgrade (+ shipping) to Vista.
Thats good news....I just Bought a Slim HP PC today....
Unfortunately I bought XP pro OEM software on October 23....
This way I can try Vista.....if I dont like it I still have XP.....
Even tough I am one in the "know"... things might change for the good.
I've read the MS has change the user agreement....they felt the public pressure to do so.....
I read that MS removed the only "2" re-installment of the OS before you are in trouble to run it again.
A lot of business are still running in Windows 2000 for its reliability and simplicity.
MS is gonna have a LOT of trouble convincing business to upgrade to vista.
Or probably the security for information would do it. I dont know.
What I know is that for every new system built from the big manufacturers the OS will come as a standard and therefore Vista will spread sooner or later.
I own 2 XP pro licenses and I will not upgrade to Vista any time soon.
I just bought a slimline HP PC with Media Center installed and it qualifies for a "free" upgrade to Vista.
This way I will try vista just to know the system a little closer.
What I dont like is that you need at leat 2 GB just to run the OS....add that to other programs like Photoshop CS2 and you are up to 4GB or more....
