Hi, my computer is supposed to have USB 2.0, but when I plug something like a pen drive to it, it gives me a message like, this device could perform faster it you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port.

Why do I get this?

My PC has Service Pack 2

Just because your operating system supports 2.0 doesn't mean your hardware is 2.0. Post the specs of your system.

yeah i got this usb card that has a "sticker" which says it's 2.0, but it ain't, and of course for xp sp2 there are no usb drivers, they're already included, so it may not actually be 2.0

other thing is make sure you have usb 2.0 (hi-speed) enabled in your bios

Go to the ASUS website and download the drivers for your motherboard.
Sometimes windows installs the USB drivers but they won't be recognized as 2.0, so get the drivers from ASUS and install them that should do the trick.

also try to see if the same problems happen by using both front and rear usb ports, avoid using any hubs for testing
