hey all, i built a new computer, and I installed the XP home i had, and then after a good week or so, my product key went tits up, microsoft decided my key was only good on one computer. so I bought windows xp professional. my question is, can I install professional, but still keep my profile and all my files? please help. i wanna do this soon. (im using my other comp btw)

well yeah you can upgrade from home to pro...make sure you don't have internet explorer 7 installed prior to the upgrade

your "profile" is everything in this folder: c:\documents and settings\username, so i mean if you want to be sure, you should back that folder up, has my documents, desktop icons, favorites and some other junk
