Hi,
Have just reinstalled OS (Windows XP Home). Every time the computer boots it gives two option for operating systems to load, XP Home and XP Home. The first XP Home works, the second does not. XP is still fully functional, but I want to get rid of this second 'option' to avoid seeing this screen every time I boot it.

Register or log in to remove.

you need to clean up your boot.ini file, there is a stale entry there from your previous install

take note if the top or bottom option works, then access msconfig.exe from run

go to the boot.ini tab, remove the last or second last line depending on which one is working for you

be careful here man...you delete the wrong one and you won't be able to get into windows, but you can always use recovery console to fix it if there's a mess

let us know if you have any questions or just copy/paste the boot.ini contents here so we can help you out
