Alright, I've done a months worth of research and here is what i have decided to buy. I will most likely purchase this tonight or tomorrow morning. (i am aware of the Intel price drop, but ive waited too long! I'm so anxious to get this rig here! :D )

Here's what I've got so far!

CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300

Motherboard
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3

Video Card
EVGA 7900GS

RAM
1GB Kingston DDR2 667

Power Supply
XCLIO GoodPower 500W

Hard Drive
WD Caviar SE 160GB SATA3.0gb/s

Are there any suggestions that i should consider before purchasing. I am definitely going with the Chip, MoBo, and GPU. But will my RAM and PSU hold up when im ready to OC in a few weeks?

Also is there anything i am overlooking!

Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

EDIT: The one thing i was wondering is in Sanji's guide he has the DDR2 667 ram while the board is for 800. Will the ram he suggests do, or should i upgrade to a DDR2 800 Ram?

is the RAM a long term deal or just until you get more dough? DDR2 RAM works best in pairs, so get 2x512 if it will be in there for awhile, a month or less get a 1gb stick.

Most likely less then a month, maybe six weeks.

Thanks for the info on the ram. :D i did not know 2x512 > 1x1024

I'll be building a similar system soon. Here's what I'd change if I were you.

1. Wait 6 days and save $26 on the E4300

2. Get this PSU instead
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817103928
It's better (on the PSU reference list) and only $30AR

3. With the savings get 2Gb Ram
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820161677

4. Get this hard drive insted
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16822136075
Seems to be fastest in all benchmarks

If all you plan on doing is OC to 3Ghz, DDR2 667 is all you'll need. If you plan on going higher, get DDR2 800. Also, don't forget to get a good HSF.

Don't get a 430w PSU, get something with a bit more grunt to keep yourself way inside the safe zone with some room to move.

DDR2-667 will get you to 3ghz safe and more than likely beyond depending on your luck with the CPU. If your only going to be waiting 1-2 months for the second 1024mb stick then just get 1x1024mb now, you can live without the 15% gain for 2 months and that way you'll have plenty of room for more memory while still keeping dual channel.

Actually, that PSU has 31A on the +12V rails. That's the important number, not the overall watts. Should be plenty for his system. Read the PSU 101 sticky and use the power supply calculator.
