iPAQ ROM update (hx4700)

I recently did a rom update that went quite smooth

My query being, after the ROM update, my PPC never did a "Syncronising PIM
database" I have a security PIN set up, and my contacts are encripted.
When I used to enter my PIN with ROM Ver 1.0, it used to "Decript
databases", then "Syncronising PIM database". After the ROM uppdate it no
longer did the "Syncronising PIM database", which is great.

I then had some agro with the Wi-Fi, so restored to an earlier date
(Obviously after the ROM upgrade), and now it "Decripts databases" &
"Syncronising PIM database" on startup.

My question is how do I stop this annoying time consuming event that did not
happen after the ROM update (ver 1.1)
