Hello,I run an old fx 5200 nvidia graphics card on my windows 7 just to watch all my dvd's on my home theatre system. I have installed flight sim x and now tells me to update my graphics or video card. On my old xp I ran the same grapfics card and F.S.X still works fine. Do you know perhaps what the problem is?
Thanks JP

Do you have the latest drivers for that card? Also, how much RAM are you working with?

fx5200 is a bit of a crappy card for gaming. You'd be better off spending $40 on a new low end video card, 4300 series from AMD should do it. Here is a 4350 card for $10 after a rebate even http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168..., will be several times faster than your FX5200. Just make sure your case has the room for the card and you have a PCIe slot.

The fx 5200 is a rather weak card compared to what's out today, but it should still work.

The FX5200 was a dog when new never mind comparing it to current cards :-) You're being too kind to it hehe.

It was designed as a budget cut down card of the then current series, and ended up being really bad for games.

LoL! Yeah, I'd never own one, but without knowing the OP's budget constraints I figured I'd just answer the question at hand. So, will the game play? Yes. Will it play well? Not by most's standards.
