Hey guys, question, say you upgrade from XP to Vista RC1 can you then roll your system back to XP if say you dont like Vista and keep the settings you had on XP still?
I am toying with the idea but if I dont like Vista as it is can I go back without having to reinstall my operating system?
Ideally, it would be better to install it on a separate hard drive to keep it as far away from your XP as possible. Upgrade installs are almost always flaky... and I don't yet know if that has changed with Vista.
hmm yeah, I was just working on that but it seems my junky old 200gb maxtor which i was going to put it on has flaked out. I guess thats what i get for not using it for like 18 months
I agree, upgrdes are usually not the best but I really am not in the mood to have to reinstall xp and all my programs etc.
if anyone knows if you can roll back to xp i would appreciate a quick not.
no i don't believe so, you can't just downgrade the o/s
xp will not install on vista, only way is if you install vista on a seperate partition and just scrap it after, going back to your xp
