I've been having some issues with switching from the McAfee Internet Security Suite 2006 to the Zone Alarm Internet Security suite. I completely uninstalled McAfee then I installed Zone Alarm. For some reason it takes twice as long for Windows XP to start up when I turn my notebook on and every time a Active Shield McAfee window pops up saying "Resource DII is missing. Please reinstall the application". The second time I did a virus scan it locked up on me.
A week ago I unistalled Norton from my Dad's pc and loaded the same Zone Alarm Suite and everything worked great. Nothing happed.
Could some give me a hand in this problem. I would greatly appreciate it.

Windows XP SP2
Intel Pentium M 2GHz

sounds like you have a stray file in there!

Try following this

I remember uninstalling Mcafee from a friends computer and it sucked!

Also try running CCleaner to clear up your registry. Should help a bit in speeding up your laptop

Yeah my notebook takes forever to start up when I turn it on. It stays at the Welcome screen for almost a minute as opposed to McAfee takings ten seconds max.
I've never used CCleaner before. I won't delete any files I need will it???
