This is going to sound really odd...but can someone please verify this for me so I know if it's a windows oddity or my computer acting weird.

Go into your email or any site within ie7 (www.tinypic.com does the trick just fine) and click browse (like you want to attach/upload a file from your local disk).

Now you've got your hard drive in front of you...go to a folder that has a zip file inside of it. Try to RIGHT CLICK the zip file.

My computer wont let me!! Any other file I can, if i rename the extention..bam i can right click it. But ONLY zip files...I can't right click from within this window.

Can someon else let me know their results please??

Thanks!

I didn't think it was possible to upload something in a zip file. The zip file itself, sure, but not something that's compressed... unless I'm mistaken...

well i can see that right clicking is pointless in this window, since u just double click and it gets uploaded, but you raise a good point, i'll try and test it out with my ie7 box

I would greatly appreciate it if you would.

P.S. It helps sometimes when I want to email someone a file but I want to rename it to something else when i attach it...or so I can zip files in the browse for attachment window, then rename the created zip. (yes i know F5 lets me do this too..but the whole idea of just oen file type not being able to be right clicked has me suspicious)

Thank you in advance if you can pleasee do this for me. :)

i think it's F2 for rename

oh man you're right, it doesn't let me do it for a zip file, but all other files i can right click AND i have the same problem in IE6, it's not an IE7 behavior, and even the stupid beloved firefox has the same thing

this is something with explorer, not browser related
