42" Apex HD???

Forum Home Theatre : HDTV 42" Apex HD???

Ad in the local paper for:

"TV: 42" Apex H.D., one year old"

Assuming the "h.d." means high def (what else could it be?), the asking
price (or B/O) is very solid...

BUT! I can't find any info online about an Apex 42" TV....HD or
otherwise....

And yes, I tried google...closest I have found so far is a 43" rear
projection review, but I think that was pretty old...I am assuming Apex
means Apex Digital, and their own website doesn't even show a TV or HDTV LCD
over 30"...also, I vaugely remember reading a review or two somewhere that
states that Apex is usually junk, but it may have been a review for Akai
(sp?)

SO, anyone out there with any experience with the "42" Apex H.D." or what it
might be ???

http://www.apexdigitalinc.com/ is correct and I would look somewhere
else. Even if you were to buy this, you would be best to buy it BRAND
NEW with a warranty from a retailer; WalMart sells this brand if that
tells you anything.

My only experiance comes from remotes for my 20 TV.
My Dish remotes, JVC, SONY, Sanyo and One-For-All universal remotes all
DO NOT list Apex TV codes. Meaning, break the OEM remote - by another
OEM remote - if it exists. Meaning - you are married to using Apex TV
remotes - nothing else works. Sad to say.......

APEX is a company dumping low cost, inferior quality products on our market
with few parts and limited technical support. Many retailers sell these as a
low cost option for the "economically minded" consumer. Also, many retailers
just return these to the distributors when they fail under the original
manufacturer's very limited warranty, then exchange the product for their
customer.

Stay away fro Apex! No tech support, poor quality, and they do not answer
warranty problems. I have an Apex dvd recorder that cost $400 and is now a
paperweight. Waiting 6 mos for an answer from Apex!

www.worldwideelec.com/apex may still be a viable site?? Like their product
support that may also be non-functional.
