I have acuired an olIbm Aptiva which had win95 installed so I had a
Install win98 CD & an Install win98 floppy and after I formatted the hard disk, I out the floppy & CD in and booted the machine. It came up It couldn't find win.com. Does anyone know How I can install a new system on this machine? It does the same when I out the old 95 Disk in?

boot into the bios to select CD booting over hard drive booting, then leave your win98 disk in the cd rom drive. It should then boot to your win98 cd "press any key to boot from CD". If you can't get that to work, download a boot disk for windows ME OEM (http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm) to boot with CD rom support. Then type X:\setup.exe, with X=the Cd drive letter.
