Can You Use C2D Retail Box Cooler on Socket 478?

I want to know if you can use a C2D retail box cooler on a socket 478 CPU. I have a spare one of these and my existing cooler broke (Flimsy plastic clips).

C2D retail box HSF is for socket 775 MB. You need specifically a socket 478 HSF to replace your HSF with.

you *might* be able to if you take the retention thing off your 478 board and the holes line up, im not sure it would be the best idea though.
