I have 8x AGP card 256MB DDR2 RAM. Does my card have to have HD features to play HD movie too? My monitor can run 1600x1200 at maximum resolution.

hi.
since your sreen support high resolution
and your graphic card,i think there will not be any problem playing hd movies.
the player will play the launched file.
u can also try other player like
windvd 8.
WinDVD 8 can navigate and decode MPEG2 Transport Stream video so users can watch captured HDTV programs. WinDVD 8 also provides navigation tools so users can easily select content to view.
for me its superior player.
give it a chanche

you need an encoder from the vidcard's support website and proper drives i believe

read on the card's specs to see if it's supported
