ATTWS Plans

Has Cingular done away with ATTWS Plans?

I just checked, and I can still access the old plans, if I use the
foundation account number [to add new customers]. However, if I try to
access it through the website like a new or prospective customer would,
I get the Cingular nation plans.

For those of you who don't know what a foundation account number is,
I'll explain. The company I work for set up an agreement with AT&T
Wireless as its national wireless carrier, and in exchange, employees of
the company can sign up through the foundation account number and
receive a generous monthly discount on thier plan, as well as other
benefits (that may come and go, just like any other promotion).

That's correct. The foundation account issue has not been settled, and
is still being run just like it always has.

One day Cingular will integrate that into its own system, but that day
hasn't come yet.

I love being a foundation account user. I get great perks, great
service, great prices....

Why do you care? Trying to take advantage of thiongs that are not meant for
you? Seems like a very dishonest thing for the resident troll to stoop to.

Do this: go to attws.com or cingular.com and look for the part of the
page where you enter your work email address and zip code.

Your work email address will trigger a lookup in their system, and
you'll get a return email with a link to your company's plans and
discounts for your zip code.

Oh, but you don't have such an email address to use? Too bad. So sad.

To prevent fraudulent use of our foundation account number, you must
provide several bits of information to ATTWS in order to obtain the
discount. Contact your [salaried] Human Resources Representative for
the actual account numbers (either for TDMA or GSM). Then, you must
provide ATTWS with your personell identification number, your fixed
location, your cost origin, your cost assignment number, your profit
origin, and your profit assignment number. You may also need to provide
your portal ID (but DO NOT provide your portal password).

If you have any question on what information is needed, you may call the
toll free number on the back of your employee identification card.
Besure to choose option 6, then select your Business Unit from the menu,
then option 4 to speak with a Human Resources Representative.

The easier way to obtain required information is to enter your work
e-mail address and zip code on the Cingular/ATTWS websites. You must
then check your work e-mail to obtain information required for the
foundation discount. However, if you do not have a company issued
e-mail address, you MUST obtain that information from your [salaried]
Human Resources Representative.

I hope this is the information you were looking for.

Yeah, I have no real complaints. I switched from Cingular brand to
ATTWS brand in the beginning of November. The only real reason I did
switch is because I needed a plan that would work in Canada, and ATTWS
offered a 'North American' add-on, while Cingular only offered North
American plans.

ATTWS gave me a free Moto V505 and a free LG L1150 when I was supposed
to get a Moto V220 and a refurb L1150. I went into a store because of
the port from Cingular. They gave me the "online" only deals including
the "online only" rebates. They were great. They took the time to
explain what many customers complain about in the first billing period
(either bugs or chronic whiners). They even explained that the 9.99 add
a line was actually 19.99 less a $10/month credit, so I actually get the
discount applied to the 19.99 *before* the $10 credit. The Cingular
side, when I explained why I was choosing a blue plan, even unlocked my
Cingular phones with no hassle (I did however pay *full* price for those
phones and was not under any contract when switching).

The only bug I have encountered is that my main phone is not using the
mobile-to-mobile feature, when my secondary phone uses MTM in Canada
(when MTM should only be applicable in the US). I alerted them about
the problem, noting that it's not a "pressing" issue because I have so
many minutes and most of my calls are from 7-10 in the evening, which is
covered with early nights.

My experience with ATT/Cingular has been all around positive....nothing
like the Verizon experience I had when they renamed themselves and I
received a $5000 bill for "roaming" on my home SID.
