Hi all,
My PC and OS is used basicly not for much, but what I do use it for is extensive number crunching with Excel and Web pages.
There are many many Items that never get used, like Pinball and all those other games, movie maker etc etc.
Messenger has been disabled from registry end by using a download that simply does just that and there is no niggling messenger on this install.
I was wondering if I can do the same with some of the dll files in all the standard intalled games ? When I do a straight out delete of anything related to Pinball for example, it get's reloaded again !
I am sure this has to happen from Registry end and I want to eliminate as much as possible all the standard installed programs I do not require, but not compromise the overall OS.
The reason;
I want a PC to be as lean as possible because it is getting slower now with the XML factor unless I upgrade.
I don't need to upgrade at this stage, all I will do is use a newr PC for the same web and spreadsheet work.
I don't use the PC for any other reason than to crunch numbers.
No games are ever played, it's just a workhorse with a 1.7 Mz CPU
Any suggestions to run XP Lean would be apppreciated.
Thanks.
