well things have changed a bit, there are some pretty good mobos, and you can fit a full size psu, theres alot of nce parts for gaming

I think I would choose the Silverstone.

It uses one 80mm fan in the rear, opposed to two 60mm in the Thermaltake. Technically speaking, the 80mm should produce less noise than one 60mm fan. Two 60mm fans should be noticeably louder.

The Silverstone also has the USB and firewire ports on the front face as opposed to the side of the case.

Personally, I don't care for the side windows.

If you are going to be building a C2D system, then you should be aware of the fact only the G965 chipset is used in m-ATX mobos. The G965 chipset has very limited overclocking capabilities in case overclocking is important to you. The highest FSB I ever heard of for the G965 chipset is 300MHz; 280MHz - 290MHz is the typical max overclock.

On the AMD side, I have no knowledge of any chipset limitation in m-ATX motherboards. I upgrade from an Athlon XP to the Intel C2D so I haven't done any research on current AMD chipsets.

wow cool thx, i didnt know that about the fans, i guess i got my choice then, ill post pics when im done building this (around late lay early june) im play alot of enemy territory and ill be using this for quake wars and mostly just for basic watching movies and media stuff, thx on the info

Plan to build

silverstone sg01
Intel DG965OT LGA 775 Intel G965 (same as used by falcon northwest)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB
EVGA 8800gts 320

after seeing voodoo's hexx, falcon nw's fragbox, and maingears small form factor pc's they are becoming better for gaming, i will only be playing that 1 game mostly, not too huge into overclocking, im also planning to blowhole 2 80mm holes on the top

Wow...I didn't know about these new versions!
The new TT LanBox Lite seems ok. I hear you can fit a 8800gts in those.
A gtx might be a tight fit though.
With the Silverstone, the construction is about second to none as far as sff cases go.
Personally, I like the Ultra MicroFly. I don't own it, but i think i'd like to. They have new designs also.

Not sure if your sold on the box shape, but I've got my eye on the new SilverStone SG-03. Check it out on their site. If you google you can find a review. Should be shipping Mid-May. I love the way the HD's load from the bottom.

The 60mm fans are made to run quiet, reviews all say that those fans even with their size are whisper quiet. Plus you'll have the exhaust from the PSU fan to help with air movement. If I do end up going SFF this summer, I'm getting the LANbox Lite.

An 8800GTS will fit in the LANbox with the hard drive cage still installed. Tt also includes instructions for mounting a GTX in the LANbox, it will involve taking the hard drive cage out. You can also fit one of those 120mm Zalman or Thermaltake CPU coolers in the case with no problem, assuming your motherboard itself supports the cooler.

I'll probably take the hard drive cage out anyway, even if there is room for both, and mount two hard drives in a 5.25" bay using something like this.

The Sugo is ok, but from what I hear it's not that great for gaming, not enough room in the right places.

One thing to note about the Silverstone and ThermalTake cases, is the PSU mount. PSUs with a 120mm fan underneath may have the CPU cooler fighting for air. Most likely i'll still end up with the LanBox, but i'm thinking of getting an Antec Neo500 to keep that airflow in check(modular cables are a plus). I hate to NOT get a SeaSonic now, I have one in my desktop thats spectacular! I never thought i'd say that about a PSU. Silverstone has that Nitrogon cooler that fits underneath the PSU. Its designed for the Sugo case, but from the dimensions should work with the LanBox as well.
Wheels are turning...
Has anyone tried to mount a fan underneath this cooler to help push air into the PSU fan?
(Maybe i need to start a new topic for this)

nah keep the topic here, id like to know

The CPU cooler and PSU never fight for air. The PSU helps pull the hot air away from the CPU. All those PSUs Take air from inside the case and blow it out the back. I have yet to find a CPU cooler that would be at odds with any fan mounted over the top of it.

Wow really?
I was just wondering cuz with the orientation of those cases, the PSU would be sitting directly above the CPU. The CPU fan blows downward, and the PSU fan blows up and out.
So the air is being pulled <---and---> pulled away These aren't exactly high output fans, but i'm thinking this is far from ideal.

I build a system back in January and have the TT Lanbox Lite.

Has anyone been able to mod this and or add fans.. i have a radeon 4870hd and between all my hardware, when i am gaming ie Left4Dead after about an hour of play, my box is puttin out some fairly warm air. Id like to move this air from my case a little faster.
