Should be receiving a new intel core 2 cpu, new ram and new board tommorrow. Was planning on doing a clean windows install once i have put them into my computer. I'm pretty certain my norton ghost image will be useless now as it was for old cpu and motherboard. It had sp2 and some other updates.
But when i do a clean install i won't be able to get any updates from microsoft because my xp is not genuine and they have this new geniune key check thing that stops updates. Is this gonna be a problem for my new setup. If it is i'm gonna have to make do 4 a bit. But will get a genuine xp if it is necessary? any1. normally have zonealarm which i think fixes some security issues, but i just wanna know if the hardware will work correctly, say only having one core working.. :?:

your system would work better if the xp install is integrated with sp2
there are ways to get around the validation, you should do some research on that
