More Information

I have owned both the V1.2 and V2.0. My ASUS MBO of 3 years old crapped out and I replaced it with the P4M800PRO-M V1.2. I was very pleased with the flawless performance until one day about 4 months out it;

Under load of gaming I would hear a loud POP in the speakers followed by a reboot. It steadily got worse until it totally corrupted my hard drive. I replaced components one by one until I finally replaced the MBO with a V2.0.

This totally fixed the problem...until... now about 2 months out, it has begun again.

It is my estimation that these Chinese made boards are CRAP! Everything these days is "made in China". The quality control is just not there.

I have written ECS off as a BAD VENDOR... Don't buy these boards unless you are willing to put up with constant problems.

I have been in IT for 33 years with many certifications. In my experience it is the cap chips they use to filter the signals. Under load they short causing the POP and reboot.

AND this is not just an ECS problem. Dell, Gateway and all the rest are having the same problems with Motherboards... Having to constantly replace them...

If this is the future of the PC industry... it is time to bail out

Well, that's my 2 Cents worth.... :x
