I recently bought a thermaltake big typhoon for my computer because my plans are to eventually overclock it. The problem is for some reason the fan stops spinning once my cpu goes over a certain temperature (ive noticed between 38-40C) At first i thought i installed the fan wrong, so i took it apart, read the directions carefully and put it back together again and the same results occurred. I have no idea what could possible be wrong with it. My only guess would be to try another type of thermal compound instead of the generic stuff they sent with the fan, anyone have any ideas?

Sounds more likely to be a defective fan, assuming you've double-checked that the connections are all correct. You might try plugging it into one of the other fan headers besides CPUFAN. You might also want to look at your BIOS's fan control settings.
