a friend of mine has a problem with internet explorer 6,when he first starts the pc up he gets an error message saying "no iexplorer",then when he trys to go online he gets "procedure not found",he clicks ok then the browser appears,it works ok unless he wants to open a new browser page,then he gets the same message again but it shuts down any open browser windows.

any ideas

If I really loved IE that much, I'd try uninstalling and then reinstalling.

If I didn't love it that much then I'd just download Firefox

Or you could try IE 7...

i don't really recommend installing ie7 on top of a broken ie6

have you tried this in safe mode with networking or creating a new user profile to see what happens

disable third party browser extensions temporarly to see if the problem goes away: control panel > internet options > advanced tab > uncheck "enable third party browser extensions (requires restart)

then restart all open IE sessions and try again to see if it craps out
