OK, so I just finished my computer (first time home built) after like a week of work. Anyways, I put it together, installed the chipset/video/sound drivers, as well as on the motherboard disk there was on that said something like "Marvel Gigibit LAN" something or other. So after installing that and restarting, I plugged in the internet cable to the computer and my router. What I'm getting is in the bottom corner "Limited or No Connectivity". I'm a networking newb, and have absolutely no idea what to do  . Can anyone explain this to me?

My motherboard Gigabyte p965-ds3.

Could be a lot of factors. These are the first few that come to mind most likely its either 1 or 2.

1. Is your router setup for DHCP? If not you'll have to manually assign an IP.
2. It could be the cable. Has it worked before? If so in what type of setup?
3. Another (unlikely) cause could be driver problems.
4. Rarely it could be that something is wrong with the built in NIC.

Did you try search for new hardware in the device manager? (I am not familiar with vista I am just guessing that they didn't take that feature out)

Another place you could try is in the BIOS. Make sure that it is not disabled.
