8mb Partition Auto Generated

Have you guys noticed when you are asked to select a partition to instal XP too, there is second partion automatically generated of 8mb in size and it can't be deleted?

Will this 8mb partition be automatically deleted after XP is installed?

That is normal. The operating system needs some space for itself. It will not show up in Windows as unpartitioned space.

I'm guessing it's space reserved for the boot-loader.

Some people use the Windows 98 install CD or disk partitioning tools to remove the additional partition.
