The inverse, a Controller with Mind Control/Empathy is a powerful combo solo
and group.
I haven't played the Empathy/Psi Defender.
The reason why the controller is so good is that 3 of the first 4 powers all
have debiitating effects on an opponent. They put him to sleep, disbable
him with nightmares or turn him against his freinds.
Unlike other classes, the Controller (at least) is best bouncing from
opponent to opponent saying, "you sleep", "you get nightmares", "you turn
against your friends" and getting everybody occupied before trying to finish
off any opponents.
Dunno if the Defender's Psi pool has this advantage.
