my girlfriend recently bought a laptop secondhand, she got all documentations and recovery cd, but win xp is registered to the previous owner. would it be possible to change the registered name in the os???
also, is is possible to configure the language bar no to appear during start up?

i belive if you close the language bar it'll ask you if you want it to startup next time and you check the box and say no it won't come up again...something like that, just try closing it

If you go to Regional Options in the Control Panel and remove anything extra that's not needed (for example if you have a US Keyboard and there are other keyboard options installed); the language bar will go away. I have mine set for Canada (English) and US Keyboard. By default when I choose Canada, it installs the billigual keyboard as well (for French characters)... I remove this and the language bar goes away.
