I was having trouble connecting my laptop's wireless to my home router. Other laptops could connect to that router. I could connect to my friend's router. I managed to fix the problem by changing the channel for the Wifi (from 6 to 11). I asked my friend and he said his was on 11 too. Is it possible to burn out a channel? And is there a way to fix it? Its standard Centrino wireless.

It could be that there is something interfering with the channel you were trying to use. 2.4Ghz portable phone for example...
