This is my first build. I am a non-gamer, and not planning to overclock. Wanted to build a decent budget system.

Here are the items I already bought:

1. RAM: PNY 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory: link
2. Hard disk: Maxtor 200 GB ATA drive: link
3. DVD: SONY DL DVD writer IDE: link
4. Power Supply: Ultra V-Series 500 Watt PSU: link
5. Case: Ultra Wizard Mid-Tower ATX Case: link
6. Keyboard/Mouse: Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000: link
7. Case fans: 120 mm: Thermaltake Thunderblade 120 mm LED Fan :link
80 mm: Thermaltake Thubderblade 80 mm LED Fan: link
8. LCD: ViewSonic Q19wb Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor - Q19WB: link
9. OS: Linux (for now- will have a partition for Windows which will be installed later)

Planning to get within a week or so:
10. CPU: Core2Duo E4300 Retail, this in mind
11.Video Card: FREETECH PX6200TD-128M GeForce 6200 128MB 128-bit DDR PCI Express x16 Video Card- [Read that this can be flashed to work as a 6600 card] link
12. Motherboard: Read that P965 chipset based is the way to go. So, either of
12.1 ECS P965T-A (V1.0) LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard: link
12.2 GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard: link
12.3 GIGABYTE GA-965GM-S2 LGA 775 Intel G965 Express Micro ATX Intel Motherboard (has firewire): link

Couple of questions:
Q1. Is it better to go for a keyboard/mouse which has PS2 instead of wireless ?. I can have this as an option
Q2. Should I change item 1 (RAM) to SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) ? this (OCZ OCZ2P800R22GK 2GB Kit DDR2 PC2-6400 Platinum Revision 2 Dual Channel Memory Retail) or this ( G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail) [which is better ?]
If I use this (PC2-6400 memory), will I invite some incompatibility ?
[NewEgg Notice on 965 chipset based mobo: ``Only DDR2-800 memory supporting JEDEC approved 1.8V operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets.'']
Q3. Do my video card (item 11) support 19" wide LCD screens ?.
Q4. Which of 12.1...12.3 is better (if using 12.3, can avoid item 11, but like to have dedicated video).
Q5. Do I need anything more ? (thermal paste, CPU cooling fan, heatsink, jumpers, cables -anything- ?)

I need to take decision in couple of days. I appreciate your help. Please post your suggestions. Thanks,

Edit1: Edited to reflect video card can be flashed to a 6600

If the budget is really tight, get 12.3 MB and drop the GPU. A 6200 really bad as in 5 years old maybe. Onboard will work for a couple months, let the budget grow back up, and if it gets really bad, more reasons to save 8O

Thanks for the suggestion to use integrated graphics. For a non-gamer, high end video cards (eg., 7600 GT) or a 6600 video card is not going to make big difference- right ?.

Please, please I appreciate some one answering my question Q5. Thanks,
