first boot problem!

I have a problem with my computer on first start up! When i first boot up my computer in the morning i get the we apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start properly....... select ..., and then it highlights ' Start Windows'. When Enter is pressed, the computer boots up Ok!. I have used the repair console, but this problem still persists at boot up. If i re-boot, it starts fine,itis only when it has been stood for a few hours!!! Plz help!!!

Sounds like your hard drive might be starting to fail. Have you checked the System Event Logger for errors?

Thanx Grumpy, i am also thinking the same, just needed someone to confirm it!!! I haven't checked the event log for errors but will do!

is it being shutdown properly? that's usually what would prompt a bad shutdown message during startup, but yeah, maybe it's starting to go, if you have a maxtor...it's already gone i'm afraid lol
