Yesterday my roommate asked me what PestTrap was...I told him it was spyware, I booted his computer into safe mode, ran Spybot, and that got rid of it. Now, his wallpaper is stuck at a blue background. It's not possible to change in the display properties and you can't even right click a picture and say "set as background." Anyone know what's going on?

It's a registry setting that's changed by Spyware. Did you update Spybot S & D before you ran it? It usually removes the registry entry.

No we didn't update it. I've never had problems with spybot removing registry settings. Any idea which one it is/how I can replace it?

if it's that important to have the wallpaper, can you change it from the display applet in control panel?

you can also create him a new user profile as the current one may be corrupted
