is 75 degrees C normal for an 8800 gts under load and around 55 just in windows?

Also the memory and core arent clocked according to specs they are at 513 and 792 or instead of 500 and 800 any clues as to why that is?

I downloaded the ntune program and it is set by default to warn me when the card gets to 120 degrees C. That seams really high to me, but maybe i'm just not used to graphics card temperatures.

Mine(XFX 8800GTS 640MB)
64~68c Idle
75~78c Full Load
i know they are bit high, but it's because of my warm room
so don't worry about the temps.
don't worry about the clocks either.
mine are at 513/792MHz by default too.
Be cool 8)

That is a little high but not unusual. I have two 8800GTX

54-56C idle -- 65-70C load SLI under Ntune monitor. speeds 625/2000

However, there is hope!, install Rivatuner 2.0 and set GPU fan speeds to 100%. Put a 120mm fan on your case side door and your temps will drop quite a bit.

Also, the whole 88XX line is made to run hot so don't panic to much.

I'll try that program if I can find it. Ntune does seem to be lacking in features. Its good to know that other people's cards run hot too.

The temperature did stay at 70 C when i left the computer on overnight idling in windows.
