Hello.

If the lovely people at Microsoft decline to give you an activation code for an OEM copy of XP because you have made too many component changes, can you still do unlimited reinstallations of XP every 30 days and use it "unactivated" or is there some sort of limit?

If I have to buy another copy of Windows I want to wait it out a bit then buy Vista, rather than pay for XP again now. I know there are upgrade vouchers, but these only seem to apply to complete systems.

Thank you.

they can't refuse, but you said OEM, microsoft doesn't even give out OEM activation keys, you gotta contact...well the OEM for that

for your second question, no if you do a clean re-install every 30 days it will only lock out after 30 days, that has no limit, you can be unactivated for 30 days however many times you re-install the o/s

i suggest you crack the activation if you get screwed in the process for a valid key lol
