Ok, im building a new comp and i have everything except the CPU since im waiting for the 22nd on that. I have everything installed and was wanting to test my front fan to make sure i have it mounted the correct direction. So i unplugged everything from the PSU except that fan. I plug in the PSU and nothing. I flip the switch still nothing. No power to that fan nor does the PSU fan turn on. So i plug in the mobo thinking it may have to have that plugged in to work. I turn it on and the light on the mobo lights but no PSU fan or front fan. Does the computer have to boot for the fans to turn on. Keep in mind these fans are plugged in directly to the PSU not to the mobo.

I have a OCZ GameXStream 700W

Do i have a dead PSU or do i just need to wait til i get the processor?

You have to jump-start it by grounding out the green "ps-on" wire on the atx connector to fool the power supply and power up.

I recall a post that described it in detail, hmm - ok here it is.
