computer wont boot after sp2

Hi, im running windows home sp1 on my computer right now, but when i try to install sp2, it installs, but when i restart, i will not boot. it makes it to the windows xp loading screen, but than it will just flash a blue screen quickly and reboot. I cant seem to figure out the problem. when that happens i have to end up reinstalling windows and reformating to get it up again, but that i loose all my stuff... any help? by the way i dont think it needs a bios update, cuz i have a brand new motherboard. it worked fine before... i used to have sp2 on here, but i ended up doing another install, and now i cant get sp2 on here.

Maybe try booting into safe mode after it's installed. Driver issue comes to mind first.

List your system specs please.
