I'm using Windows Xp Sp2. I've been trying to find a way to restore file and printer sharing on my PC for my network.

The PC's Shared documents do not appear on the network, and I cant enable file sharing from drives/folders. I've tried visiting support @ microsoft but i've reached a dead end. Seems that my problem has something to do with this Server service.

I checked on services.msc and found that the service is not started. I tried enabling it but it gives out this error:

Could not start Server service on Local computer.

Error 2 : The system cannot find the file specified.

note: i can browse the other computer in my network, but they cant see my computer.

so does this mean there's some corrupt file in my system and I should copy it from the installation cd? if this is the case, how should i do it?

or could there possibly be something else that's wrong with my pc?
