Hello

Iv only recently been noticing that some times when i start the pc, it just gets stuck at the logon screen.... it says loading...but then none of the names appear. Then when I restart the pc, it either happens again or it works fine. restarting a couple of times usually always makes it work.

This has only started about 2 days ago, till then everything was great. I haven't installed anything since then...i think.

Any solution to this annoying problem.

Try restarting in safe mode. Do you have the same problems?

nope..works fine on safe mode.

Sounds like you need to reinstall Windows.

if it boots in safe mode then just do a repair, it should work.

repair off the xp cd

have you ever booted off the xp cd and done a repair?

Iv never tried repairing it before.

I just have one question...will repairing the OS from the cd cause my files and documents to be lost, or will it just replace the missing/altered files without messing with my documents and games?

no repair only refreshes window's own files and reg keys, your files and setting will remain, you may need to reinstall drives for your graphic cards but that should be it.

that is the beauty of repair, you get to keep everything as is ;)
