More Information

I have just bought and installed 4 sticks of Crucial Ballistix 1GB with the timings 3-3-3-12 (http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?imodule=BL2KIT12864AA663) and installed it on Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard.
In the BIOS > Advanced > Chipset, when disabling the "Configure DRAM Timing by SPD" setting, I can manually enter the following (in the same order):

- CAS Latency (defaults to 5 clocks)
- RAS Precharge (defaults to 4 clocks)
- RAS to CAS Delay (defaults to 4 clocks)
- RAS Activate to Precharge Delay (defaults to 15 clocks)
- Write Recovery Time (defaults to 4 clocks)

Two questions:

1. When the "Configure DRAM Timing by SPD" setting is enabled, can I expect the timings to be as specified by Crucial, or the BIOS defaults?

2. If manually entering them, I believe I should enter the following (in the order presented above): 3 - 3 - 3 - 12 - ??
The question here is, what is the Write Recovery Time, I don't find that info on the memory sticks....

More Information

1. It should use what spd has specified, but if the clock speed of the RAM has been increased it will change it.

2. You should be able to use what it's spec are, although if you are pushing the RAM higher than 667 then you will need to loosen those timings a bit. Leave the write at default and see if it works, then try lowering it and see if it remains stable.
