alright, first off, sorry if this post is in the wrong section.

here's my problem: Windows muffed up. it's dead. it was going to die, and this morning, at about 10:15 AM, it died for good.

My Other Post (if you need more information on what happened).

unfortunantely, when it froze, I was moving all my music off C drive (the operating drive) to my storage drive, D. what I would like from anyone who responds to this post, is advice, and suggestions: can my music be saved?

I was hoping I could find a mini-linux distro, but I don't know where to start, which ones are best, or if it will even work!

please help.

Sincerely,
Jesse.

if you are talking about recovering your data then try easy recovery pro

thanks, for the tip, but I already have that. I'm talking about using a mini-OS to recover files, before I format the drive and reinstall Windows. I guess I should have made that clear.

in all honesty, the damage done won't be extensive. I do have an ipod, so most of my music is on there, except for 6 albums, but I would prefer not to have to download them again. I do have iPod software to rip songs off of it, but I haven't used it yet. if anyone can point me to a free iPod copier that they know works, I would be grateful.
