when i turn on my computer the xp boot screen comes up and loads for a while, then my computer reboots. Then the same will happen again, xp bootscreen->reboot. i have unchecked the auto restart if there is a system failure, yet it still goes to the boot screen then restarts. It's a never ending cycle.
The only thing i did was install new drivers.
i uninstalled my current set of drivers because omegas are slow on updating, and ran driver cleaner, and re-installed the ngo 6.12 drivers. I don't know why it keeps restarting because i've uninstalled, cleaned out the registry, removed all residual files associated, and it still doesn't work. Anybody have any solutions to this?

Register or log in to remove.

You have to isolate whether the new drivers are the cause.

Boot up in Safe Mode (tap the F8 key to get the menu during restart). Uninstall the new drivers in Control Panel - Add/Remove. Restart.

My guess is you'll get your desktop here with a crummy picture. Reinstall the old drivers, reboot, and see if you're stable.

Then call ATI support and explain the whole scenario to them. Have explicit info on the graphics, mobo & its' chipset. They will probably recommend a specific number driver to try. There are explicit instructions as to how their drivers get installed - follow them.

Good luck!
