Hi,
a week ago my 15" Sony Multiscan 100SX (got it in 1996/1997) began geting a yellowish tint after using it for an hour or so. Now it always has this yellowish tint, and lately has been causing me severe eyestrain from merely sitting in front of it for an hour or 2 per day (by severe I mean my eyes feel raw as if there has been something scraping them and also inside it's like the muscle is strained too; it hurts when I move my eyes). This happens even if I only use it for an hour or 2 (refresh rate is 85Hz). In addition, it's getting kinda dim even at max brightness (my friend's 19" CRT is like 10x brighter than mine). Does it look like my crt's dying and I should get a new one?

Finally, the b!tch monitor is dying! .
Ok, for new monitors, I see that NEC has the new 2002 series, with the 791SB or whatever. It says it's superbright- what does that mean exactly; is it brighter than 130cd/m^2? Also, has anyone had personal experience with the FE750+- I know it's a little old, but is it a good monitor?

Hmm, the PF775 also looks tasty. (Yeah, I went about 7 pages back and saw someone comment on how good it was). So are the 2 aformentioned monitors good? I use em for graphics, games, and schoolwork (and I want a refresh rate greater than 100hz cause I can see 100Hz).

Hehe. Well I returned LCD (TFT7020) (long story, basically Compaq lied and gave me incorrect info about it) and since I'm this close, I might as well wait for FFD. I tried burning out this damn crt, made it go at 120Hz when it's made for 85Hz max at 800x600, but the dumb thing just made a white streak on the side and continued to work! Arggh!

If you're looking for a really bright monitor, check out the Iiyama Vision Master Pro 454. I have it, and barely have the brightness turned up (i think its at 10%) for "Text" mode. Colors look fantastic on this monitor.
