The guys at OCWorkbench posted a few pictures of what is meant to be a Radeon HD 2600XT. Apparently the Chinese website PCinLife posted these pictures and leaked some specifications.
According to the author at PCinLife, the board uses 256MB of GDDR4, 65nm manufacturing process and a bios dated April 4th. Maximal Wattage is 80W or lower, since the card doesn't need an additional power connector, unlike the Nvidia 8600GTS. In one of the 1080p video test, cpu usage was lower than 5% on average which is a great score. This does sound promissing.
Here are some of the leaked pictures thanks to OCWorkbench.
its possible the timing on his camera is screwed or this was an ES he got all the way back in Jan. either way, if that is indeed the midranged card; I'd say their cooling solutions are met, which in means I'd be looking for a launch sooner more than later provided production problems arent still causing issues.
Also possible is that someone took a photo of their early test sample when they got it, sent it to their friend/relative who now posted it. Etc.
Doesn't loook photochopped, and doesn't provide enough info to matter if it was. It's not picture of stuff we couldn't guess, the cooler looks like an X1950GT/Pro cooler, but with the new AMD flames.
I'm more excited than I was when the 8600's started showing up. I'm still confused on how it would ever take 80W without a power connector. Maybe a 2600XTX will come with one?
idk though, just re-looking at that picture, I can't see Crossfire being a valued option period. I see the bridge connections, but then I"m wondering how your going to be able to get away with it if the cards do not require a 6pin and run off the juice provided by the PCI-E slot.
