2GB RAM: 4 Sticks or 2 Sticks? Tags: Memory Performance RAM Last response: April 21, 2007 4:51 AM in Memory Share Benjamonous April 21, 2007 12:28:43 AM Forgive my noobishness, but I was wondering about RAM setup. If I want to install 2GB RAM, and I have 4 open slots on the MoBo, is it better to fill all four slots with 4 x 512MB, or just two slots with 2 x 1GB sticks? Is there any performance difference at all between the two setups? Thanks More about : 2gb ram sticks sticks skyguy April 21, 2007 1:26:37 AM 2 sticks for SURE. Not only does that let you expand in the future if you want/need, but also lets you run 1T timings on your RAM. 2 stick is DEFINITELY the way to go.
