Hi there, I havent built a computer for quite a while, last was a amd64 3500.

I want to use this for games, I just recently got a very cheap 7900gtx which I will carry over to the new build, will probably go with r600 when it eventually comes out.

I just really want to know if this build will be alright for overclocking.

E6600
DFI Infinity 975X
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency

Any comments/help appreciated.

Good CPU, good RAM, not so good motherboard. The 975 chipsets are not the greatest overclockers. I'd get the 975 if you really need the dual PCI-e slots though.....but they won't run in SLI. So I think the dual slots is a waste.....won't be needed unless you're gonna run 2 cards and 3 monitors.

It largely depends on how hard you want to push an OC though, so it's hard to tell without more info. But generally speaking, the 965 boards are far better at OC'ing and still have great features.

Consider this board instead, much better for a few more quid:
